Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce has admitted he is unlikely to keep on-loan striker Nicklas Bendtner at St Andrew's beyond the end of the season. The Denmark international has been an integral part of the Blues' Championship promotion push this season with 11 goals.
But Bruce believes the 19-year-old marksman will return to parent club Arsenal at the end of the season and play his way into the first-team picture at the Emirates Stadium. "I have said all along that we would struggle to hold on to Nicklas," Bruce told the Birmingham Mail. "Arsenal have been monitoring him all season and he talks to them all the time. And ultimately, it's down to (Arsenal manager) Mr Wenger. "We will address the situation in the summer, but I do expect him to go back to Arsenal." |
