This 2009-10 season of the Scottish Premier League will be the twelfth season of the championship and is being predicted by most to be the most exciting of all the championship seasons. The Rangers got the title last season and will be defending their position this season, only time will tell which club will finally rise from last season’s ashes. This Premier League is the premier championship in the Scottish Football League System and thus has fans in abundance throughout the country. In fact more people of Scotland watch their Premier League than any other people from any other European Nation watch their Premier Leagues!

Being a smaller League as compared to other European Leagues, this Live Football showdown will involve twelve clubs in total. The Season will last from August of 2009 to May of 2010 and in the course of that each team will play with its opponent for at least three games, one at home and two away. This adds up to thirty games and after having completed all these matches, the best and the bottom teams get divided into two groups of six each. From here will begin the second phase of the championship. In this phase, each team will compete with the other five teams in its group. The points thereby from the two phases are added up and the club with the largest number wins. According to the system, for each win a team gets three points, for loss they get none and if there is a case of a draw, then both teams competing get one point each.

Among the clubs that you can watch throughout the series include clubs such as Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hearts, Hibs, Rangers etc. The biggest question that makes Live Football so entertaining is the anticipation, only predictions are being made about who will win the championship and who might get relegated. St. Mirren Football Club and Motherwell football club are probable candidates for this; although Motherwell played quite well last season they cannot be relied upon this season as they have lost quite a number of their good players. Falkirk and St. Mirren have been having bad seasons and also have not been signing on any new players. Hamilton Accidemical on the other hand has been doing quite well and may be a force to reckon with this season.

What is even better for the viewership of Live Football 2009 is the fact that the Celtics are renewing their rivalry with Rangers; after having been interrupted in their three years’ title reign by the Rangers last season. Rivalry and winning and supporting your team is what watching Live Football is all about and the Scottish premier League provides just that to fans.

The Scottish Premier League evokes passion in both those living in the country as well those outside it. Before, the SPL was rarely aired on television; now all that is in the past due to the live football streaming of the Scottish Premier League by OleOleFootball.com. While many television channels seem to ignore the Scottish League, preferred to focus on the more popular English Premier League or Spanish La Liga, OleOleFootball.com's football feeds now mean you can watch the Scottish Premier League live.

The Scottish Premier League consists of two major clubs that challenge for the title; those clubs are Rangers and Celtic. Although the league has seen somewhat serious challenges from Hearts and Aberdeen in recent years, it is Rangers and Celtic that the title is generally competed between. Hearts have surged into contention in recent years after they were taken over by Lithuanian businessman Vladmir Romanov. Hearts were at one point in pole position to break the Old Firm's dominance on the league but Romanov's eccentricities eventually led to the sale of assets such as goalkeeper Craig Gordon and captain Steven Pressley.

Last season's SPL title was comfortably won by Celtic, who stormed into the league early on and never really looked like relinquishing it. They finished a massive twelve points ahead of rivals Rangers, with Aberdeen a distant third place after they amassed sixty five points. This year, the title race has started off well, with just a single point between the top three teams. Celtic are once again on top with nineteen points while Rangers are only second due to their inferior goal difference. Hibernian are just a point behind, and few could have hoped for a better start. In the past, the Scottish league was accused of being way too predictable; this year's league has shown that anything can happen.

Hearts started off poorly, currently only registering eleven points after eight games, however they will surely improve. Hearts are a side with some very good players and they showed what they were capable of when they dismantled Rangers 4-2 in a thrilling match earlier in the season. As for entertainment value, the Scottish league has always been accused of being less attractive than other top leagues- this year however has seen quite a few high scoring matches, including the 7-2 victory for Rangers over Falkirk and the 5-1 win away from home for Celtic against St. Mirren. Celtic also netted five unanswered goals in a drubbing dished out to Hearts, once again showing how unpredictable the league is.

Although we have not seen the Old Firm play each other yet this season, we will be able to see the Scottish giants lock horns soon. Their first game is scheduled for the 20th of October at the Ibrox Stadium, a mere two weeks from now. This game should definitely be shown on television, however if you do not have it remember that you can always get live football streaming of the Scottish Premier League on OleOleFootball.com.
