South Korea are captained by Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung, who has revealed that he could quit international football after this Asian Cup. The Koreans last won the tournament in 1960 and have since then finished runners up at three editions- 1972, 1980 and 1988.

With India expected to make up the numbers, the South Korea vs Bahrain clash could very well decide who qualifies out of the group along with Australia. Bahrain were only a single game away from making it to the 2010 World Cup, losing in the playoffs to New Zealand.

The Gulf nation’s cause has not been helped by injuries to several key players. Skipper Mohammed Salmeen broke his leg in the friendly against Jordan while Al-Riffa midfielder Hussain Salman is out with a back strain.  Defender Abdulla Al Marzooqi and midfielder Salman Isa are doubtful for the clash against the Koreans.
