The calculations for Burkina Faso are very simple. A win or a draw against Ghana would ensure qualification to the last eight. A loss would end their 2010 CAN campaign. If Burkina Faso win the game by more than two goals, they will finish as group winners.

Burkina Faso’s Portugal born coach Paulo Duarte had set up his team to defend against the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the first game and one should expect more of the same against Ghana. The goal-scoring responsibilities will be on Moumouni Dagano. He will be supported by Hamburg midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa. Saidou Panandetiguiri and Paul Koulibaly are on one yellow card.

Ghana need a win to make it to the next round after their 3-1 loss to Ivory Coast. They will finish second behind the Elephants with a win. A draw or loss would end Ghana’s campaign.

Black Stars’ coach Milan Rajevac’s biggest concern ahead of the game is the fitness of star midfielder and skipper Michael Essien. The Chelsea man played only 45 minutes in Ghana’s first game and has been struggling with a hamstring problem. Moussa Narry will be relegated to the bench if Essien is fit for the game. Okopu Agyemang is on a yellow card.

Failure to qualify for the last eight would come as a setback to Ghana’s preparations for the World Cup and will cast a doubt over the decision to leave out Sulley Muntari and Stephen Appiah. Sign up today and watch Burkina Faso vs Ghana live on your computer.
