The second semi final of CAN 2010 pits Egypt against Algeria in what is perhaps the biggest game of the tournament given the recent history between the two teams. Watch live streaming of Egypt vs Algeria only with Ole Ole Football.
Egypt and Algeria were level in all respects in their bid to qualify for the 2010 World Cup. To resolve the tie, a playoff was arranged in Sudan where Antar Yahia’s 40th minute goal knocked Egypt out of the World Cup. The Pharaohs will look the set the record straight with a win in Benguela.
Ahmed Hassan and Mohamed Geddo lead the goal scoring charts with 3 goals apiece. Emad Moteab is not far behind with two goals to his credit. The Pharaohs needed extra time to settle the tie against the Indomitable Lions in the quarters with Hassan and Geddo scoring crucial goals. The in-form Geddo could get a start against Les Fennecs.
After being very lucky to qualify from Group A, Algeria came from behind twice against Ivory Coast to force the game into extra time. In extra time, an unmarked Hameur Bouazza scored at the far post to send the Elephants crashing out of the tournament.
Algeria are expected to play 4-4-2 with Ghezzal and Matmour leading the forward line. In midfield, they will be supported by Ziani, Yebda, Mansouri and Meghni. Madjid Bougherra and Rafik Halliche will be at the heart of defence with Yahia and Belhadj running up and down the flanks. Veteran forward Rafik Saifi is a doubt for the game and will most likely start from the bench.
After stopping them from playing in South Africa, Algeria can also halt Egypt’s bid for a third consecutive African Cup of Nations title. Sign up today and watch Egypt vs Algeria live with Ole Ole Football.
