Gabon were lucky to take an early lead against Cameroon when a sloppy piece of defending from veteran Rigobert Song allowed Roguy Meye to find Daniel Cousin with a through ball. The Hull City striker slotted the ball past the keeper to score the only goal of the game. Keeper Didier Ovono was the real star for Gabon. Early in the game he touched a ferocious shot by Achille Emana onto the post. He also made good saves from Geremi and Samuel Eto’o and kept a clean sheet for Alain Giresse’s side.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked lively when he came on in the second half and nearly scored with a thunderous free-kick and might get a look-in from the start. Stephane Nguema and striker Roguy Meye are on a yellow card.

The Carthage Eagles looked a pale shadow of the side which won the 2004 edition. Tunisia were lucky to escape with a draw against Zambia. After falling behind early, they equalised through Dhaouadi who was brilliantly set up by Youssef Msakni after a dazzling run down the left flank. Tunisia came under late pressure from the Copper Bullets, who had an 85^th minute header by Emmanuel Mayuka wrongly disallowed for offside.

Tunisia might bring in Issam Jemaa from the start in place of Oussama Darragi who was ineffective against Zambia. Amine Chermiti will still be Tunisia’s go-to man for the all important goal. Karim Haggui picked up a yellow against Zambia and needs to be careful.
