The win against Gabon was blighted by the yellow cards picked up by Chintu Kampamba and Rainford Kalaba. Both of them will miss this crucial quarter final. William Njobvu, Clifford Mulenga and Isaac Chansa will be in contention to replace the suspended players.

After a defeat to Egypt in their first games, the Super Eagles have hit form at the right time and established themselves as contenders for the title. A Yakubu penalty gave them all three points against Benin in the second game. In their final group game against Mozambique, they scored three with Odemwingie scoring a brace and Martins adding a late goal.

Shaibu Amodu has a full squad to choose from with an embarrassment of riches in all positions over the pitch. Joseph Yobo missed the game against Mozambique with a knee injury and is expected to be back against Zambia. Taye Taiwo was surprisingly left on the bench against the Mambas but should return to take his place against the Chipolopolo. Chinedu Obasi and Yakubu will prove to be a handful for Zambia’s centre backs.
