The Premier League, Barclays and the BFA bring you the first game of the headline event at the inaugural Beijing Football International Festival, the Barclay's Asia Trophy Beijing, from the Worker's Stadium in Beijing. Four teams are in the lineup for this event, West Ham United, Beijing Guoan, Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City, with Hull City and Beijing playing the second game of the day. Before that however, it will be West Ham and Tottenham, with the kickoff at 11am BST. The tournament format is the same as the latter stages of a regular knockout, with just two days to play, July 29^th and July 31^st.

The way the tournament will work is that both matches happen on day one, with the two losing teams advancing to a play-off on day two. The winner of the play-off gets to take home a third place victory while the two champions of the day one tournaments do battle to see who will take first, and who will take second, in the 2009 Barclay's Asia Trophy Beijing. West Ham United is based in Upton Park, in London, and they have one FLC championship to their name, in 2005, while being runners-up the year prior.

Their neighbors from North London, the Spurs bring Skipper Robbie Keane and vice-captain Ledley King to the field, with 8 FA Cup wins dating all the way back to 1901, and a League Cup win in 2008, taking the 2^nd spot in the 2009 League Cup.
