The Villans beat Crystal Palace 3-1 in the FA Cup on Wednesday night. A pair of late second half penalties from Norwegian striker John Carew prevented the tie from going into extra time. Palace’s Darren Ambrose had earlier cancelled out Gabriel Agbonlahor’s opener for Villa.

Manchester United comfortably saw off the challenge of West Ham on Tuesday with Wayne Rooney again turning in a wonderful performance. Dimitar Berbatov and Luis Antonio Valencia combined to set up Rooney for United’s opener. The striker also scored a second after the interval, heading home from another Valencia cross. Michael Owen added a late third after collecting a pass from Paul Scholes. United defender Rio Ferdinand will miss the final with a back injury.
