Manchester United will be looking to continue their recent dominance over Tottenham Hotspur when they host the Lilywhites on Tuesday night at Old Trafford in the quarterfinals of the Carling Cup. Watch League Cup live with Ole Ole Football, leaders in soccer streaming.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side beat Barnsley in the fourth round of the competition. United made wholesale changes to the side that had lost to Liverpool, and took the lead when young Danny Welbeck headed in Anderson’s corner in the 6^th minute. Michael Owen’s superb solo finish made it 2-0 on the hour mark, and the Red Devils held on to win despite Gary Neville’s dismissal for a challenge on Adam Hammill.

Barnsley had their chances in the game, but failed to take advantage of the 15 odd shots they had on Ben Foster’s goal. Manchester United beat Portsmouth 4-1 on Saturday, with Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs both producing outstanding performances. Rooney scored a hat trick while Giggs set up two goals and scored the fourth with a wonderfully taken free kick.

Spurs also won their fourth round tie by a two goal margin. Harry Redknapp’s side saw off the challenge of Everton at White Hart Lane. Tom Huddlestone converted David Bentley’s 31^st minute cross to put Spurs ahead. Robbie Keane had his second half penalty saved by Tim Howard, but netted after the keeper had denied follow up efforts from Bentley and Gareth Bale.

Spurs drew 1-1 with Aston Villa on Saturday, with Michael Dawson’s superb second half strike cancelling out Gabby Agbonlahor’s opener for Aston Villa. Spurs have a poor recent record against United- their last win against the Red Devils was way back in May 2001.
