Anderlecht host French club Lyon in the Champions League second leg play-off in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Tuesday night. The Jupiler League runners-up will have their work cut out to recover from their first leg 5-1 defeat at the Stade Gerland, but they will be hoping they can at least produce a good performance and claim back some pride. In the first leg of this tie Lyon humiliated their Belgian opponents 5-1. Lyon’s goals came from Miralem Pjanic, Lisandro Lopez, Michel Bastos and a double from new signing Bafetimbi Gomis, with Matias Suarez scoring the consolation goal for Anderlecht.

The victory looks to have been enough for the former French champions to progress to the lucrative Champions League group stages. However they will be wary of complacency and will have to be professional in this match. Lyon underwent a massive squad rebuild this summer losing top players Brazilian midfielder Juninho and star striker Karim Benzema. The two players brought in to replace the pair impressed in the first leg with new striker Bafetimbi Gomis scoring two goals and new Brazilian winger Michel Bastos also getting on the scoresheet and they are two of the players to watch out for in this exciting clash.
