APOEL suffered their third straight defeat in Group D on Match Day 4 as they were beaten 1-0 by FC Porto. Colombian forward Radamel Falcao scored the winner for Porto six minutes from time, thereby ending APOEL’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Marinos Satsios will miss APOEL’s final group game against Chelsea in London if he gets booked on Wednesday night. APOEL beat fierce Cypriot rivals Anorthosis Famagusta in the first division on Saturday. Both the goals came in the second half- Nenad Mirosavljevic scored in the 71^st minute, while Nektarios Alexandrou netted in the 86^th minute.

Atletico were beaten 2-1 by Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga on Saturday. Sergio Aguero gave Atletico the lead in the 3^rd minute, only for Diego Colotto to cancel it out midway through the first half. Deportivo clinched all three points when Pablo brought down Alberto Lopo late in the game. Jose Guardado converted the resulting penalty, sending Atletico to a third successive league defeat.

Argentine star Aguero also netted a brace in Chelsea’s visit to the Vicente Calderon on Match Day 4. The 2-2 draw however was not enough to keep Los Colchoneros’ hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 alive. Brazilian midfielder Paulo Assuncao is suspended for Atletico.
