Arsenal are favourites to progress to the lucrative group stages of the Champions League after the Gunners defeated the Scottish champions 2-0 in the first leg of this tie. Celtic need to win this the second leg  by two goals or more to progress, it looks unlikely but anything can happen in the Champions League. Arsenal have got one foot in the group stages of the Champions League after beating Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead in the first leg. Defender William Gallas gave his side the lead just before half-time and Stephen Caldwell put past his own keeper in the 71^st minute. It gave the Gunners a huge advantage going in to this second leg, not only have they won, but they scored two vital away goals.

Arsenal have started the season in really good form and have looked exciting going forward and more solid in defence. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised new defender Thomas Vermaelen for the speed he has settled in England, with the Belgian international impressing since signing for the club from Ajax.

Arsenal have looked fantastic going forward with midfielders Andrey Arshavin and Cesc Fabregas particularly impressing. Fabregas had been linked with a move back home to Spain with Barcelona, but fortunately for the Gunners they kept hold of their captain.

Celtic face the nearly impossible task of recovering a 2-0 deficit at the Emirates Stadium. However the Hoops have still got a chance of progressing, but they will need to be at their best and have a huge slice of luck to defeat the Gunners, but midfielder Landry N’Guemo is optimistic that his side can progress.
