English giants Arsenal play host to Belgian club Standard Liege on the fifth Matchday of the Champions League Group Stage. Arsenal, who top the group with ten points, just need to avoid defeat at home to secure their passage into the knock-out phase for the tenth consecutive season. Arsenal suffered a setback this weekend in their domestic league as they lost 0-1 to Sunderland. Although they still find themselves third in the League table, they have lost considerable ground on league leaders Chelsea. Arsene Wenger has a host of injury worries going into this game as well.

Robin van Persie is out for another six weeks after picking up an injury on international duty. Niklas Bendtner is also missing with a groin strain. Kieran Gibbs may be available for selection after missing this weekend's game. Andrei Arshavin and Theo Walcott, who came off the bench against Sunderland, are likely to start for Arsenal.

Standard have been in poor form. With only one win in their last five domestic games, they find themselves fourth in the table, ten points behind leaders Anderlecht. Goals from Dieudonné Mbokani and Milan Jovanovic gave Standard a much needed win against Olympiacos on Match Day 4 and fans would be hoping that they can replicate that performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Standard lost to Genk 2-1 on Saturday. They took the lead through Gohi Cyriac, but were unable to prevent Genk from coming back to win 2-1. Defender Mohammad Sarr is ruled out of the tie with a hamstring pull. The onus will be on former Spurs man Ricardo Rocha to thwart Arsenal's attack. In another interesting battle within the game, Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen will face Belgian international colleague Axel Witsel.
