AZ took the lead against Roda through Jeremain Lens, but found themselves trailing after Pa Modou Kah and Jeanvion Matondo scored on either side of the break to put Roda 2-1 ahead. Swedish youngster Rasmus Elm made it 2-2 on 70 minutes, and Lens scored his second of the game to put AZ 3-2 ahead with fifteen minutes to go. Substitute Jonathas wrapped up things in the 80^th minute as AZ ran out 4-2 winners.

Olympiacos’ hopes of qualifying received a setback when they were beaten 2-0 by Standard on Match Day 4. The Greek side have won two and lost two in the Champions League so far, and will be assured of atleast a Europa League spot if they draw or beat AZ.
