Barcelona scored a crucial away goal in the first leg and are still favourites for the competition with the bookmakers. Barcelona however, have hit a really bad run of form, now only leading at the top of La Liga by four points. They were twelve points clear at one point, but are starting to show that they are human after all. If they find their top form then they are simply unstoppable. They have to rediscover that early season form or their season could fall apart.

Andres Iniesta could make a timely return for Barcelona. The midfielder has been out of action since he picked up an injury in February. French left back Eric Abidal is also a doubt, as he’s struggled with a muscular problem in recent weeks.

Lyon are experienced Champions League campaigners, but have underachieved in the competition, always making the knock out stages but rarely getting past the quarter finals. The French side do look like winning their eighth consecutive league title, as they have a healthy lead at the top of Ligue 1. The French champions have been completely dominant domestically, but that form has not been transferred to Europe. There was also the unrest at the training ground with Anthony Reveillere clashed with general manager Claude Puel.

Reveillere is recovering from injury and his confrontation with Puel is not going to help his chances of being selected. Lyon are like to mirror Barcelona’s 4-3-2-1 formation. France’s new superstar Karim Benzema is likely to spearhead Lyon’s attack, with Juninho and Sidney Govou attacking from midfield.
