FC Porto v Atletico Madrid Live

FC Porto goes into the home leg of this class with two away goals. They still face a tough challenge from the Spanish side though. The Portuguese champions are top of the Liga Sagres and will hope that they can stay in contention for both trophies. They are former holders of the Champions League, winning the trophy back in 2004 under Jose Mourinho, before his departure to Chelsea.

Porto have a worrying injury list at present, but will be hoping that star striker and joint top scorer Lisandro Lopez has recovered from flu. Porto’s other joint top scorer Lucho Gonzalez has also been missing recently with tonsillitis, but should be available to play. Defenders Jorge Fucile, Cristiano Sapuranu and Aly Cissokho will all miss the tie.

Atletico will be disappointed to have conceded two away goals and will have to improve their performance from the first leg or they will face an uphill battle to progress. The Spaniards do have some fantastic players in the shape of Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero and former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan. Their leg form has been patchy but they recently defeated league leaders Barcelona 4-3 at the Vicente Calderon, with Aguero and Forlan both scoring braces.

Atletico may have Colombian right back Luis Perea back in the team, after a length of absence out through injury. Luis Garcia is also hoping to feature after recovering from a hamstring injury. If Perea is fit then Atletico will have a wealth of options in defence, with Johnny Heitinga and Giourkas Seitaridis also available.
