Esteban Cambiasso started the rout at Comunale Luigi Ferraris with his 6^th minute strike. Javier Zanetti’s free kick was headed by Maicon into the path of Cambiasso, whose shot took a deflection off Francesco Modesto on its way past Marco Amelia. Mario Balotelli scored Inter’s second just after half an hour had passed, collecting a Wesley Sneijder pass before shooting into the bottom right corner.

Dejan Stankovic made it 3-0 to Inter in first half extra time. Marco Amelia’s goal kick went straight to Stankovic, and Amelia was caught out of position as the Serbian midfielder’s first time volley from the half way line went in. Sneijder created goal number four for Patrick Viera, and Genoa’s night of misery was complete when Brazilian Maicon slotted in the fifth on 71 minutes.

Dynamo Kyiv are currently second in the group. They beat Rubin Kazan 3-1 on Match Day 1, but were beaten 2-0 by Barcelona in their next game. Inter on the other hand, drew 0-0 with Barcelona at home and 1-1 with Rubin in Russia in their first two games.

Dynamo beat Obolon Kyiv 2-1 in their weekend game. Obolon took the lead in the 72^nd minute through Sergei Yavorksy, but Artem Milevskiy equalised for Dynamo two minutes later. Andriy Shevchenko then struck an 80^th minute winner as Dynamo picked up their ninth win in ten league games.
