Inter lost their spot at the top of Group F a fortnight ago when they were beaten by defending champions Barcelona at the Nou Camp. The Nerazzurri are level on points and goal difference with Rubin, and the winner of this match will qualify for the next round, regardless of what happens in the other game between Dinamo and Barcelona.

Jose Mourinho’s side were beaten by Juventus in Serie A on Saturday. Inter fell behind when Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo put Juventus ahead but were soon back on level terms when Samuel Eto’o took advantage of some poor marking from the Juve centre backs and headed Dejan Stankovic’s cross past Gigi Buffon. Juventus took the lead again in the second half through Claudio Marchisio, and this time they did not let go of it. Inter were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty when Martin Caceres brought Diego Milito down in the box.

Rubin were involved in a goalless stalemate with Dinamo Kiev on Match Day 5. The Russian champions beat Kuban Krasnodar in their last game. First half goals from Hasan Kabze and Rafal Murawski put the leaders 2-0 ahead and Igor Portnyagin added a third in the second half to complete a comfortable win.

Cristian Ansaldi and Christiano Noboa are both one booking away from a one match ban. Rubin drew 1-1 with Inter on Match Day 2. Alejandro Dominiguez’s opener for the Russian outfit was cancelled out by Dejan Stankovic.
