Lyon sit second in Group E with 10 points from five games. They suffered their first defeat a fortnight ago in Florence, when Juan Vargas’ penalty gave Fiorentina a 1-0 win. While both OL and Fiorentina have qualified, there is still the small matter of who will finish first in the group. Lisandro and Miralem Pjanic are a card away from suspension.

Lyon slipped to fourth in the Ligue 1 table as they lost a seven goal thriller to Lille on Sunday night. Claude Puel’s men lead 3-1 at the break thanks to Lisandro Lopez’s hat trick, but Lille produced a stunning comeback to win 4-3, with Ivory Coast striker Gervinho grabbing a stoppage time winner.

Debrecen lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Match Day 5 to continue their winless run in Group E. A small consolation would be the fact that the Hungarians have scored more goals than the Reds in Europe so far. Lyon may rest a few key players with progress already confirmed and this will be an excellent chance for Debrecen to prove that they are not merely making up the numbers.

Debrecen beat MTK 2-0 in their weekend Hungarian league game. Adama Coulibaly gave them the lead from the spot in the 33^rd minute and Peter Szakaly doubled it three minutes later. MTK will also be Debrecen’s opponents after the Lyon game as the two teams have been pitted against each other in the Hungarian Cup.
