Olympiakos are second in Group H behind Arsenal with seven points from five games. Third placed Standard Liege are three points behind, which means a draw or a win will do perfectly for Zico’s men.
Olympiacos drew 0-0 away at AZ Alkmaar on Match Day 5. They had more luck in their weekend Greek Super League game, beating Xanthi 1-0. Leonardo’s 31st minute strike proved to be enough for the Kokkini, who had beaten bitter rivals Panathinaikos the week before.
Arsenal beat Stoke City 2-0 in the Premier League on Saturday. Skipper Cesc Fabregas missed a penalty in the first half, but the man who had earned that spot kick, Andrei Arshavin, put the Gunners ahead in the 26th minute. Welsh wonderkid Aaron Ramsey sealed all three points with his late second half strike.
However Arsenal lost Tomas Rosicky to injury on Saturday and the Czech skipper joins Robin Van Persie, Johan Djorou and Nicklas Bendtner on the sidelines. Theo Walcott could return to the squad but there are doubts over the fitness of striker Eduardo, Ivorian Emmanuel Eboue and left back Armand Traore. The Gunners sealed progress from Group H on Match Day 5 by beating Standard 2-0 in London. Samir Nasri and Denilson were the scorers on that occasion.
