Rubin drew 0-0 at home against Zenit St.Petersburg. The result gave Rubin an unassailable five point lead over second placed Spartak Moscow with one game remaining, and also guarantees an automatic spot in next season’s Champions League for the club.

Rubin started off on the wrong foot against Dinamo, but bounced back to pick up five points from their games against Inter and Barcelona, including a famous 2-1 win at the Nou Camp. Cristian Ansaldi and skipper Sergei Semak will miss Rubin’s final group match if they get booked against Dinamo. Dinamo beat Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 in their weekend Ukrainian Premier League game. Striker Artem Milevskiy netted a brace for Dinamo, with Andriy Yarmolenko adding the third on the hourmark. Brazilian defender Leandro Almeida is suspended, while compatriot Gerson and Milevskiy are a booking away from missing Dinamo’s next game.
