Both Werder Bremen and FC Twente have just two points to show for their efforts so far in the Champions League going into their Match Day 4 clash at the Weserstadion. The fixture has effectively become a do-or-die game for both sides as anything less than a win could seriously hamper any chances of making it through to the next round.

When the two sides met on match day three, Twente had taken the lead through Theo Janssen but were unable to hold on to it. Substitute Marko Arnautovic equalized for the visitors and secured a point for Bremen.

On the injury front, Bremen will be without influential midfielder Tim Borowski who has had surgery on a persistent ankle problem. Defender Clemenz Fritz is also suffering from a minor niggle and his participation in the contest will be touch and go. Werder trainer Thomas Schaaf is expected to play Sebastian Mielitz in goal in place of the injured Tim Wiese.

Twenty will be without the services of left back Nicky Kuiper whose Champions League campaign might be over after he tore ligaments in his left knee in an Eredivisie game against ADO Den Haag.  Twente go into this game on a high after beating PSV Eindhoven 1-0 on Saturday.
