Defending German champions Wolfsburg will hope to put their poor recent form behind them when they make their Champions League debut against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday evening.

Wolfsburg started off their title defence well with wins over Stuttgart and Koln, but have slipped to tenth position after losing their last three games. All the three fixtures were against tough opposition-Hamburg, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, but the pressure is growing on trainer Armin Veh to quickly arrest the slide.

 Summer signing Thomas Kahlenberg is the only notable absentee for Wolfsburg. The Danish midfielder is yet to make an appearance for the Wolves after sustaining a hip injury in the Super Cup game against Werder Bremen.

CSKA Moscow, winners of the UEFA Cup in 2005, recently appointed Juande Ramos as their new manager. The change bore immediate results as the Moscow outfit beat Krylya Samara 3-0 in their last game. Midfielder Mark Gonzalez will miss this game with a thigh injury.
