The Czechs have played Lithuania four times in the last two decades and have won all the meetings between the two sides. The first meeting was a friendly in May 1994, a high scoring game that the Czechs won 6-3.

The two teams were in the same group for Euro 2000 qualification. The Czechs beat Lithuania 2-0 at home and followed it up with a 4-0 thrashing on the road. The two teams last met in an international friendly just prior to Euro 2008. The Czechs won that fixture too thanks to a brace from veteran striker Jan Koller, who scored a goal in either half at Stadium Eden.

Lithuania drew their Euro 2012 qualifying opener against Scotland at home in Kaunas, while the Czech Republic are yet to play a single game in Group I.
