Iceland have already played one game in Group H- a 2-1 loss to Norway in Reykjavík. Iceland were leading 1-0 at the interval thanks to Heidar Helguson’s 38^th minute strike but second half goals from Brede Hangeland and Mohamed Abdellaoue gave Norway a comeback win.

The Danes have played Iceland five times in international football till date. Four of those fixtures have gone the way of the Danish with one fixture in September 1991 in Iceland ending in a 0-0 draw.

Iceland’s last trip to the Parken Stadium came in November 2007 for a Euro 2008 qualifier. Denmark ran out 3-0 winners in that fixture with goals coming from the boots of Nicklas Bendtner, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Thomas Kahlenberg. Their only other visit to Denmark also ended in defeat- Iceland were hammered them 6-0 in a World Cup 2002 qualification game.
