The Swedes were in action against Hungary on Friday night at the Rasunda Stadium. They won 2-0 thanks to a second half brace from AZ midfielder Pontus Wernbloom. Swedish coach Erik Hamren chose to start with the same XI that had beaten Scotland in a friendly last month.

Wernbloom netted the opener six minutes into the second half when he headed Sebastian Larsson’s cross past Gabor Kiraly in the Hungary goal. Larsson, a second half substitute for Johan Elmander, also had a hand in Sweden’s second goal, again scored by Wernbloom.

San Marino were demolished 5-0 by World Cup finalists Holland in Serravalle on Friday. Two goals came in the first half, with the other three coming after the interval.
