Everton started their Europa League campaign in the best possible fashion by thumping Greek side AEK Athens at Goodison Park, so will be looking to continue where they left off when the face the Belarusian league leaders.

Both Everton and BATE have never come up against opposition from the opposing countries, so the game will be new territory for both. The first time BATE reached the group stages of any UEFA competition was last season, when they finished last in their Champions’ League group. As a point of interest, BATE play all their European home games at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk as opposed to their own Gorodskoi Stadium and as yet have not recorded a home victory in six attempts.
