Lech slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Eastlands a fortnight ago- their first loss in Group A. The visitors went behind in the 13^th minute when Emmanuel Adebayor scored for City. Veteran City midfielder Patrick Vieira found Adebayor at the edge of the box and the latter deceived his marker with a quick turn before finding the back of the net.

Some atrocious marking from the Lech defence allowed Adebayor to head in City’s second unchallenged on 25 minutes from David Silva’s cross. The Togolese international grabbed his third of the night in the 73^rd minute, again created by City’s Spanish summer signing Silva.

Lech’s defence was no match for Adebayor and company at Eastlands and the Poles will need to tighten things at the back if they are to make a match of it on Thursday. City will also be keen to get back to winning ways after suffering a stunning loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
