As things stand in the group at the moment, PSV lead the way with eight points while Sparta follow closely behind on seven. A win will put PSV through to the Round of 32 as group winners, whereas if Sparta Prague win and the evening’s other Group K clash between FC Copenhagen and CFR Cluj ends in a draw, Sparta will join PSV in the next round.

When the teams clashed in Prague in matchday one, it took a late PSV equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw. The meeting on Thursday evening in Eindhoven will only be PSV’s second home game against Czech opposition in their history (in European competition). Sparta Prague themselves have actually travelled to Holland three times before in the past, and they have secured two victories as well as one defeat on their travels in the country.

PSV Eindhoven are currently sitting in second position in the Dutch league with 39 points to their name.
