Everton v Liverpool Live
Everton and Liverpoolclash in the Merseyside derby as the fight out in the replay of the fourth round in the F A cup which is live here at oleolefootball.watchlive.net at 20:10 GMT on Wednesday 4th January with live soccer online.
The sides drew for the second time in the week in the original tie with a 1-1 draw Anfield. The rivals had only met a few days before at Anfield where a late Tim Cahill equaliser cancelled out Steven Gerrard’s earlier strike. In the cup the game was much of the same as Liverpool constantly threatened the Everton goal, only to face a brilliant Everton defence in their way. Joleon Lescott had sent the Toffees ahead after 27 minutes with an easy finish before Gerrard struck once again with a tame shot that should have been easily saved by keeper Tim Howard.
Everton will be the happier of the two sides as they now have the home advantage as well as increasing their rivals already congested fixture list. The Blues come into the game in the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal, although manager David Moyes will feel robbed of all three points as the Gunners struck late on to snatch an underserved equaliser after Tim Cahill sent Everton into the lead with his 100th career goal.
Liverpool meanwhile will come to Goodison Park in high spirits after a precious 2-0 win over fellow title contenders Chelsea on the weekend. Fernando Torres struck twice to sink the mega-rich London club to ensure Liverpool keep up the pressure on league leaders Manchester United.
