Hartlepool will have high hopes of yet another Premier League scalp after stunning Stoke with a 2-0 victory to cause a major upset in the third round. The victory was Hartlepool’s second win of the season against Premier League opposition, after knocking West Brom out of the Carling Cup with a 3-1 victory after extra time.

Hartlepool currently sit 12^th in the Coca-Cola Football League One and also won at the weekend with a 2-0 win over fellow mid-table side Northampton. The “Monkey Hangers” may be without star striker Joel Porter however, as the Australian looks to overcome an ongoing Achilles injury.

West Ham head into the game in high spirits with after a precious 3-1 win over Fulham at the weekend and comfortably saw off last years giant killers Barnsley 3-0 in the third round of the competition. Gianfranco Zola is likely to name a strong side with the F.A Cup the Hammers only chance for silverware this season as West Ham look to reach the final for the second time in three years.

The Hammers will be without Craig Bellamy however, after the striker completed his move to Manchester City this week for a fee in the region of £15 million. Zola has played down speculation that the club will sell any more of their top names after the sale of Bellamy, with Scott Parker and Matthew Upson frequently linked with a move away from Upton Park.
