Hull have not won in the Premier League since the start of the December following their current blip in form, and a cup tie against lower league opposition will surely be seen as an ideal way to revitalise their astonishing debut season the Premier League that has shocked fans and media alike.
The Tigers have never reached an a F.A Cup final unlike their opponents, coming closest in 1930 when they reached the semi final only to lose out to Arsenal. Hull boss Phil Brown will hope to avoid any controversy this time round after being sent to the stand in their third round replay against Newcastle, as Brown looks set to receive a touchline ban following an improper conduct charge.
Millwall meanwhile have a rich history of giant killing in the FA Cup, even adopting the current nickname “The Lions” following their exploits in the FA Cup in 1900 when they reached the semi-final. More recently Millwall will be remembered for reaching the FA Cup Final against Manchester United in 2004, where they lost 3-0 but still claimed a UEFA Cup Place for the 04/05 season.
The Lions will look to add Hull to their list of giant killings as the club ride high in the Coca-Cola League One in third place. It took a replay for Millwall to reach the fourth round however, finally defeating Crewe 3-2 in the replay.
