Notts County stunned City’s Premier League rivals Sunderland in the third round. Goals in either half from Craig Westcarr and Lee Hughes gave County a stunning 2-1 win at the Stadium of Light.

Man City needed a replay to get past a determined Leicester City outfit in their third round clash. After the first leg at the Walkers Stadium had ended in a 2-2 draw, City prevailed 4-2 in the reverse at Eastlands. City skipper Carlos Tevez scored in both legs for his side.
