Swansea v Fulham Live
Swansea and Fulham clash in the fifth round of the F A cup which you can see here live at oleolefootball.watchlive.net at 12:45 GMT on Saturday 14th January 2009 with live football streams direct to your computer.
Swansea are this year’s surprise package in the Coca-Cola Championship as they ride high in 7th place, two points off the play-off zone with a game in hand. Many had expected the newly promoted side to struggle and were firm favourites to have an immediate return to League One, but Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has shocked audiences by not only succeeding but by playing some of the best football in the Championship this season.
Swansea reached the fifth round with a 2-0 away upset at Portsmouth, which increased the pressure on the now sacked Tony Adams. Nathan Dyer and Jason Scotland netted the goals that continued the Swans cup run and the club have full confidence of grabbing victory at the Liberty Stadium against Premier League opposition. Interestingly enough Martinez is one of a number of names for the Portsmouth job after Adams was sacked earlier this week, although he quickly moved to dismiss any rumours of leaving the club.
Fulham come into the game on the back of a 0-0 draw against fellow mid-table side Wigan, as the London club have pulled themselves away from the relegation dog fight temporarily. Fulham progressed to the fifth round after a pulsating 4-2 win against non-league Kettering, needing two late goals to seal the win. Kettering’s Craig Westcarr had seemingly sealed a replay for the non-league side before Andy Johnson and Bobby Zomara struck late on in the 88th and 89th minute respectively to end Kettering’s FA Cup dream.
