Watford v Chelsea Live

Despite the cup tie much of the focus will be on the managerial situation at Chelsea after Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was sensationally sacked as manager of the club earlier this week. Numerous reports have linked several top names for the job at Stamford Bridge, and with the club hoping to have a replacement in a soon as possible there could be a new man in charge ready for the tie at Vicarage Road.

Watford earned their place in the fifth round with perhaps the pick of the bunch of the games in the fourth round with a 4-3 win over fellow Championship side Crystal Palace. Jay DeMerit and Jack Cork gave Watford the lead early on before Clint Hill pulled a goal back for the visitors. Will Hoskins and Grzegorz Rasiak then doubled the lead, seemingly handing victory to Watford before Palace rallied late on with goals from Neil Danns and Paul Ifil but it was too late in the end as Watford booked their place in the next round.

Chelsea meanwhile were made to work hard for their place in the fifth round as they overcame Championship side Ipswich 3-1. Although the scoreline might suggest the Premier League side had it easy, it took two quality free-kicks from Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard, as well as another Ballack goal to seal the victory in a game that could have gone either way.
