Notts County travel to Wigan Athletic for an FA Cup fourth round replay this coming Tuesday evening after really throwing away the first game between the two ten days ago. When these two teams met at Notts County in the first game, it was the League Two side that started the game the better and it wasn’t long before they exerted themselves. It was the underdogs who opened the scoring in the game when Hughes scored in the 26^th minute to send the home fans wild with delight. At this stage a major upset was on the cards, but unluckily for Notts County, Wigan didn’t read the script. Roberto Martinez’ men managed to pull a goal back in the 52^nd minute when Jason Scotland grabbed a rare (for him) goal. At this stage the home side were buckling under the pressure and it wasn’t long before the Premier League team had equalised when Watson scored in the 82^nd minute.

Notts County did manage to hold out until full time to earn themselves a replay at Wigan, but they surely must now realise any realistic chance they had of getting through to the next round is gone. Depending on what team Martinez decides to send out on Tuesday evening, Wigan will start the game as overwhelming favourites to get through to the fifth round.
