Brazil v Italy Live
International giants Brazil and Italy clash at the Emirates stadium for an international friendly match at 19:45 GMT on Tuesday 10th February 2009, which is live here at oleolefootball.watchlive.net with live footy direct to your computer.
The two nations have a rich history in International football with 13 world cup finals between them including 9 World Cups (5 for Brazil, 4 for Italy). The Italians are the current World cup holders whereas Brazil won the tournament in 2002 as well as the Copa America in 2007.
Former European footballer of the year Ronaldinho is set to make a return to the squad, whilst Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo may be handed his International debut in the upcoming tie against Italy. Inter Milan’s Adriano has been called up to the squad despite receiving constant bad press in Italy over his attitude and poor physical condition. In-form Juventus striker Amauri is the surprise exclusion from the squad after Juve denied the striker the chance to join the team after national coach Dunga selected Amauri as a replacement for the injured Luis Fabiano.
Italian boss Marcello Lippi is set to name his squad soon as the former Juventus boss looks to break the national record for most games unbeaten in a row. If Italy can draw or better on Tuesday Lippi will take his tally of matches unbeaten to 32 in a row, increasing the significance of the friendly. Lippi has told press he will not experiment with his squad on Tuesday and is set to take the tie seriously, although the game almost didn’t go ahead after an Italian fugitive was granted asylum in Brazil, straining political tensions between the nations.
