Crystal Palace’s third pre-season friendly of the 10/11 season sees the Eagles host Premier League champions Chelsea at Selhurst Park this weekend. See live friendlies streaming on your computer as they happen by signing up with Ole Ole Football today.
Palace’s fans have already seen them in action twice this season and both fixtures, unfortunately for the Eagles, ended in defeat. The first was against Crawley, while the second was against Sutton United.
Against Sutton, Palace went behind when Jerson Dos Santos converted from the spot after Liam Bridcutt had brought down Craig Dundas. Wilfried Zaha set up Palace’s equaliser as his first time effort was fumbled by the visiting keeper, thereby allowing Nathaniel Pinney to convert from close range. However Tom Davis’ stunning late free kick was enough for Sutton United to claim victory over the Eagles.
Many of Chelsea’s big stars who participated at the 2010 World Cup will not play any part in this friendly. However upcoming youngsters like Gael Kakuta, Franco di Santo and Fabio Borini are all expected to be seen in action at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
