Denmark and the United States will face each other in what will be both teams second match of this international break. This is the second game in four days that the Danes will have played at home against opposition from outside Europe. On Saturday evening they played South Korea but could only manage to finish the game at 0-0 in what will, for them, be seen as a disappointing result. The Danes qualified for next summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa by winning Group A, a group that also contained Portugal, Sweden and Hungary among others. Their achievement therefore of qualifying was even more remarkable when the calibre of the other teams in the group are taken into consideration, so it’s not surprising that there were a few murmurs of discontent after the game with South Korea.

The Americans play their second match in Europe of this international break. On Saturday they visited the beautiful city of Bratislava to face Slovakia. A Slovakia team, as the United States, who have qualified for next summer’s World Cup finals, so the game was a great test for both nations. In the end, the Slovakian’s won the match by 1-0 in a keenly contested game.

The trip to Copenhagen on Wednesday evening will offer the United States team another tough challenge against a team that has already qualified for the finals. They will be looking for a better result though than that which they attained against the Slovak’s on Saturday evening.
