England boss Fabio Capello is experimenting with a number of tactical changes as he seeks to get his squad right for the World Cup. Striker Emile Heskey is likely to get the axe following his poor performances with Aston Villa. Capello is likely to play Wayne Rooney as a sole striker, with Aaron Lennon, Steven Gerrard and Theo Walcott behind him in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Rooney was a huge success at Manchester United playing alone upfront last season, leading Capello to believe that he could flourish in a similar role for England.

Mexico have played four friendlies this month and have won three of them by a 1-0 margin. Alberto Medina netted the winner against Senegal and Chile, while Andres Guardado was on target against Angola. The solitary draw came against Ecuador in East Rutherford.
