On the other side of the ball Sampdoria just barely scraped out a 13^th place finish last year in Serie A but managed to turn their season around by making it all the way to the final of the Coppa Italia. Unfortunately they were taken down by Lazio on penalties to stop their path to the top. Just like last year the team will be relying on star player Antonio Cassano and a lot of hope will be placed on the recent signing of young Marco Rossi. The problem is that there are rumors that Cassano may leave in hopes of finding more success with Inter Milan.
