Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni has sprung no major surprises in his squad for this friendly. Trap has gone with tried and tested players and has named only three uncapped players in his squad- John Walters, Marc Wilson and Seamus Coleman.

There is no place in the squad for in form Celtic forward Anthony Stokes or young CSKA Sofia striker Cillian Sheridan. However Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Stephen Hunt has been recalled to the squad.

Norway’s run of four successive victories in 2010 was broken when they lost 2-1 to Slaven Bilic’s Croatia last month. The Norwegians took the lead midway through the first half through Hannover forward Mohammed Abdellaoue, but goals in either half from Mario Mandzukic and Niko Kranjcar gave the Croats a 2-1 comeback win.
