Italy coach Marcello Lippi has called up Cagliari’s Andrea Cossu, Bari’s Leonardo Bonucci and Palermo’s Salvatore Sirigu for the first time to the national squad. He has dropped left back Fabio Grosso and also recalled Daniele Bonera and Marco Borriello. Injuries and fitness issues have kept Luca Toni, Francesco Totti, Gianluigi Buffon, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Mauro Camoranesi and Alberto Gilardino out of the squad.

The fixture against Italy is the first of three friendlies Cameroon have arranged prior to the 2010 World Cup. Paul Le Guen’s side reached the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations in Angola last month before bowing out to eventual winners Egypt. Cameroon will be lead by Samuel Eto’o, who plies his trade in Italy with Inter Milan.
