Every football fan is getting extremely excited about the 2009-2010 English Premier League season and thrilled that the preseason is about to wrap up. However, two teams that are not looking that far ahead towards their own seasons are Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid will take on Liverpool in a live football match on Saturday August 8th. OleOleFootball is your home for live footy action and the best place to watch the English Premier League online.
Atletico Madrid has a very promising team on paper this season and will be striving towards a top tier finish in La Liga this year. They surprised every team in the league and even a number of their fans with a 4th place finish last year, even though they lost Fernando Torres, and would like to continue to improve this year. There is no reason to doubt the team’s abilities as players such as Diego Floram, Jose Antonio Reyes and Florent Sinama-Pongolle should be able to carry their team to the top of the league. Their match with Liverpool should help manager Abel Resino get a good idea of where his team is headed and which improvements need to be made.
Liverpool has had a very up and down preseason thus far. They have come away with a few promising victories however they were demoralized thanks to a 3-0 loss to Espanyol. They were outplayed from start to finish in the game and they seemed to be looking past Espanyol and towards the start of the season. Manager Rafa Benitez has been disappointed with his team’s play but has been impressed by the play of Captain Steven Gerrard. The team really needs to bounce back and take a stand in this final pre-season game so they can be prepared for the season.
Can Liverpool prove that they are ready for the year or will Atletico Madrid show that they are a top team to beat in La Liga? Tune into OleOleFootball and watch Liverpool v Atletico Madrid live to find out on Saturday August 8th.
