The Dutch posted a 2-1 win over Mexico in their last friendly. A brace from Arsenal forward Robin Van Persie was enough to seal victory. Mexico managed to pull one back through Javier Hernandez in the second half, but Holland were always in control of the game. Oranje boss Bert van Marwijk has already trimmed his squad to 23, and will experiment with a few things in order to get his team ready for the World Cup. Ron Vlaar, Vurnon Anita, Orlando Engelaar and Jeremain Lens were the ones axed from the squad by Van Marwijk

Ghana have been dealt a huge blow by the news that ace midfielder Michael Essien will not recover in time from his knee injury. The Chelsea star is one of Ghana’s best players and coach Milovan Rajevac could certainly have done with his services.
