Newcastle United will play their first pre-season friendly against European opposition on Saturday when they take on PSV Eindhoven at St James’ Park. See Newcastle vs PSV live online by making use of your exclusive membership with Ole Ole Football.

Veteran defender Sol Campbell could make his first appearance in a black and white shirt this weekend. Campbell, a Premier League veteran having played for the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Portsmouth, recently signed a one year deal with the Magpies. He is fourth on the list of players with most Premier League appearances.

Newcastle also met PSV in a pre-season friendly in August 2008. The game ended in a 2-2 draw on that occasion. Danny Guthrie scored on his home debut for the Magpies, with Steven Taylor netting the other goal. Reimond Manco and Nordin Amrabat were the goal scorers for PSV that evening.

However Taylor will play no part against PSV as he is recovering after shoulder surgery. This is PSV’s third visit to Tyneside in the last four years. Prior to the 2-2 draw in 2008, they came for a friendly in August 2006 and ran out 3-2 winners against the Magpies.
