Northern Ireland didn’t manage to qualify from a tough Group Three in the end, but their total of fifteen points was very respectable considering the teams that were in the group. Slovakia eventually won the group, with Slovenia coming second and the Czech Republic in third. Northern Ireland eventually finished in fourth position, just one point behind the Czech’s.

Serbia actually had the group won from the second last game when they defeated Romania 5-0 at home, giving them the luxury of losing their last game away to Lithuania by 2-1. The whole nation will be buoyed by the fact that their team have qualified for the finals, and it will give everybody something to look forward to next summer.
