The United States surprisingly topped Group C ahead of England at the World Cup, but bowed out in the Round of 16 as they were beaten 2-1 by Ghana. US coach Bob Bradley’s roster for the South Africa friendly includes only five World Cup members- Brad Guzan, Clarence Goodson, Jonathan Spector, Jonathan Bornstein and Robbie Findley.

Bradley has given five players their maiden call up to the national team- defenders Tim Ream and Gale Agbossoumonde, midfielder Mikkel Diskerud and forwards Juan Agudelo and Teal Bunbury.

South Africa will be captained by Steven Pienaar in this international friendly. Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane has chosen to rest both Aaron Mokoena and Macbeth Sibaya for this fixture. Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Matthew Pattison could be in line to earn his first international cap on Wednesday
