La Furia Roja were beaten by Korea in the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup on penalties. They also had a perfectly legitimate golden goal from Fernando Morientes disallowed in extra time. The current Spanish squad has only three survivors from that game- goalkeeper Iker Casillas, defender Carles Puyol and midfielder Xavi.

The Spanish were not too convincing in their last game against Saudi Arabia and were only victorious thanks to a late goal from Fernando Llorente. Spain won the game 3-2, with the other goals coming from the boots of new Barca signing David Villa and Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso. This will be Korea’s last friendly before the World Cup, while Spain will play another warm up game against Poland before heading off to South Africa.
